Boiler Maintenance

About the role

This role involves routine inspections of operational conditions of major equipment such as boilers, feed water pumps, and fans/blowers. You will monitor parameters including temperature, pressure, and vibration, and immediately report and handle any abnormal conditions. You will execute preventive maintenance activities including cleaning, lubrication, and component replacement to extend equipment lifespan, including boiler scale/ash cleaning and replacement of worn bearings.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of operational conditions of major equipment such as boilers, feed water pumps, and fans/blowers, monitoring parameters such as temperature, pressure, and vibration, and immediately reporting and handling abnormal conditions

• Execute preventive maintenance activities including cleaning, lubrication, and component replacement to extend equipment lifespan

• Execute major overhaul, minor overhaul, and technical repair/improvement projects according to maintenance schedules

• Manage the process of equipment disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly to ensure maintenance work is performed well and to standard

• Coordinate with operational teams during shutdown processes to ensure work runs effectively and with quality

• Analyse causes of equipment damage or malfunction and develop and execute repair actions and emergency repairs to minimise downtime

• Provide guidance to operators regarding correct operating procedures and handling of equipment malfunctions in the field

• Create detailed records of damage causes, handling processes, and spare part replacements

• Maintain and update operational, repair, and maintenance records and ensure complete equipment maintenance logs are available

• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical spare parts to support operational continuity and maintenance activities

About you

• Minimum qualification: SMK/SMA Vocational, Technical School, or equivalent, with educational background in Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Machine/Equipment Maintenance, or related field

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in boiler maintenance and repair, auxiliary equipment, piping and valves, or power generation equipment

• Understanding of boiler system operating principles and common maintenance processes, and ability to independently perform equipment disassembly, assembly, inspection, measurement, and damage handling

• Good physical health and ability to work in high-temperature environments, at heights, in confined spaces, in shift work systems, and in emergency repair work

• Preferred: Competency certificates in maintenance/boiler repair technician work, certificates related to special equipment work, or permits/certificates for special risk work
