Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable APIs, backend services, and event-driven workflows.

• Develop database models and integrations for business-critical systems.

• Own services through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.

• Improve performance, reliability, and security.

• Review code, guide architecture decisions, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS.

• Experience designing REST or GraphQL APIs.

• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL, data modeling, indexing, and query optimization.

• Experience with event-driven architecture and third-party integrations.

• Practical experience with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD.

• Experience with automated testing, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.

• Ability to explain system design decisions and technical trade-offs.

• Experience using Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, or equivalent AI coding tools for development, testing, and debugging.

• Ability to verify AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability, and handle sensitive data appropriately.

• Full WFO at SCBD, South Jakarta.

Preferred Qualifications

• Infrastructure as code using Terraform.

• Experience with payments, inventory, fulfillment, or high-volume transactional systems.

• Experience with autoscaling and zero-downtime deployments.

• Experience integrating LLM APIs, structured outputs, and tool calling.
