Asst. Manager Farming (Horticulture)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage greenhouse and orchard operations, including planting schedules, crop maintenance, harvesting, and post-harvest handling for strawberries, melons, durian, bananas, sapodilla, and avocados.

• Develop and implement annual cultivation calendars covering fertilization, pruning, fruit thinning, flowering induction, irrigation, and other crop-specific practices.

• Monitor and optimize growing conditions, including nutrient EC/pH, fertigation, temperature, humidity, ventilation, lighting, irrigation, and drainage, while implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and maintaining crop health and sanitation standards.

• Lead and document R&D trials for strawberry varieties, including variety comparisons, growing media evaluations, and nutrient protocol testing, while identifying opportunities for crop rejuvenation, top-working/budding, and planting block expansion.

• Oversee harvesting, grading, and post-harvest handling to maintain premium product quality, including Brix levels, fruit size, appearance, and minimizing product losses.

• Manage agricultural infrastructure, equipment, production input inventory, and greenhouse and orchard teams, including seasonal workers during peak harvest periods.

• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on production performance, yield forecasts, operational costs, crop losses, and work plans for the Head of Department, while coordinating with distribution and sales teams to ensure smooth operations and product delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree (S1) in Agrotechnology, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in greenhouse management, horticulture, or perennial fruit crop cultivation.

• Proficient in nutrient management, fertigation systems, greenhouse climate control, pruning techniques, balanced fertilization, and pest and disease management.

• Proven experience in leading and managing agricultural teams.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Comfortable working in the field and able to operate company vehicles.

• Willing to be based in Cangar, Batu, or Pandaan/Pasuruan, East Java.
