AI Short Drama Script Writer

About the role

Our head office is creating original vertical short dramas for the Indonesian market, and our Indonesia representative office is looking for a Script Development Support team member to assist the head office's content team in developing high-retention, production-ready episodic scripts. You will support the head office in executing high-quality short drama content while developing the potential to take on broader support responsibilities as the head office's content business grows.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing Bahasa Indonesia short drama scripts based on briefs and direction from the head office.

• Follow the head office's script production and optimization SOPs, and suggest workflow improvements based on practical results.

• Support the short-drama production team by revising scripts based on feedback and project performance.

• Provide Indonesian language, cultural, and audience insights to help the head office adapt stories for the local market.

About you

• Native-level proficiency in written Bahasa Indonesia, with a strong understanding of contemporary language use, local culture, relationships, and audience preferences.

• Demonstrable experience developing short dramas, serialized dramas, web-fiction adaptations, short-form narrative video, or other high-engagement narrative content. A portfolio is required.

• Strong story-development skills, with the ability to help turn a rough concept into an episodic story that is logically clear, emotionally engaging, and built for retention.

• A solid understanding of vertical short-drama pacing, including hooks, reversals, emotional payoffs, cliffhangers, and episode-to-episode progression.

• Experience using ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar tools in content production.

• Ability to follow, execute, document, and help improve AI-assisted script-generation and script-optimization SOPs.

• Able to collaborate effectively in English with international teams.

• A collaborative, team-oriented mindset, with the ability to take direction, handle feedback and revisions, and meet agreed deadlines.
