AI Automation & Industrial IoT Engineer

About the role

This role focuses on improving manufacturing and business processes through workflow automation, enterprise system integration, data engineering, and applied AI. You will identify operational bottlenecks, simplify processes, connect disconnected systems, and develop reliable solutions that improve efficiency, data accuracy, traceability, and decision-making across production, inventory, quality, procurement, maintenance, commercial operations, and finance.

Key responsibilities

• Map end-to-end business and manufacturing processes, identifying manual work, bottlenecks, duplicate entries, data inconsistencies, and control gaps.
• Simplify processes before automating them and translate operational requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Build production-grade automation using n8n and supporting technologies, including event-driven workflows, scheduling, branching, validation, retries, error handling, logging, monitoring, and recovery.
• Develop reusable workflows and components for future implementations.
• Integrate ERP, accounting, CRM, HRIS, databases, and operational applications using REST APIs, webhooks, middleware, or database connections.
• Maintain data consistency across production, inventory, procurement, sales, quality, and finance.
• Design relational data structures, queries, constraints, and transactions using SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Develop AI-powered workflows and agents using LLM APIs, structured outputs, tool/function calling, retrieval, context management, and agent orchestration.
• Connect relevant production, batch, raw material, tank, QC, inventory, and finished goods records.
• Test normal and exceptional scenarios, including invalid inputs, service interruptions, retries, and partial failures.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent demonstrated technical capability may also be considered.
• Proven experience building automation, system integrations, AI applications, or internal systems used in real operational environments.
• Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
• Proficiency in n8n or equivalent workflow orchestration, including data transformation, branching, sub-workflows, error handling, and debugging.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, authentication/OAuth, pagination, rate limits, retries, idempotency, and asynchronous processing.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and strong programming capability in at least one of Python or Go/Golang.
• Proficiency in SQL and PostgreSQL, including relational modeling, constraints, transactions, indexing, reconciliation, and query optimization.
• Understanding of Git/version control, software testing, logging, monitoring, debugging, and production incident investigation.
• Ability to integrate AI models through APIs and evaluate their outputs, including AI Agents, tool calling, structured output, RAG/knowledge retrieval, context management, and human-in-the-loop controls.
