About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tutor Bahasa Inggris (English Language Tutor) to join our Samarinda branch. This is a full-time position based in Samarinda Kota, East Kalimantan. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English language instruction to students of varying proficiency levels. You will play a key role in helping our learners develop their English language skills, build confidence, and achieve their academic and personal learning objectives. This position is fundamental to our mission of providing quality English education to the community.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive English language lessons to individual students and small groups

• Assess student proficiency levels and design personalised learning plans tailored to individual needs and goals

• Prepare and develop comprehensive lesson plans, teaching materials, and resources aligned with curriculum standards

• Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and provide regular feedback to students and parents

• Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment that motivates students to achieve their full potential

• Utilise a variety of teaching techniques and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities

• Conduct regular assessments and examinations to evaluate student understanding and development

• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and management regarding progress, concerns, and achievements

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of tutoring programmes and share best practices with colleagues

• Maintain professional conduct and uphold the centre's standards of quality and excellence

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in English, Education, English Language Teaching (ELT), or a related discipline

• Proven experience as an English language tutor or teacher, with at least 2 years in a tutoring or educational setting

• Native or near-native English language proficiency with excellent spoken and written communication skills

• Strong knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and language teaching methodologies

• Ability to develop and deliver engaging, interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students of all ages

• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students learn and develop

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple students and maintain detailed records

• Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and digital learning platforms is advantageous

• Certification in TEFL, TESOL, or equivalent English teaching qualification is preferred
