Tactical Purchaser - Batam

About the role

The position incumbent performs the assigned duties in adherence to laws, regulations and conditions applicable in the company. The Tactical Purchaser implements and supports purchasing strategy, manages contracts and orders, and ensures purchasing targets and KPIs are met.

Location: Batam

Key responsibilities

• Implements the prescribed sourcing strategies in terms of prices and contract negotiations with suppliers

• Ensures that purchasing targets/KPIs appointed by and agreed with the superior are met

• Continuously analyzes and develops for assigned material groups/material cluster the sourcing markets and the requirements/demand of internal clients

• Supports strategic purchasers through knowledge/information according to regional markets circumstances, and new developments

• Reports and monitors achieved purchasing performances

• Works on supplier evaluation and development

• Advises and steers purchasers functionally in the material group/region in his/her area of responsibility

• Supports procurement activities from project initiation through operational ramp-up, including supplier identification and development, RFQ management, and purchase order processing

• Ensures the punctual and accurate processing of contracts and orders in accordance with purchasing guidelines

• Executes all purchasing activities and sourcing management decisions under consideration of principles of compliance, environmental safety, health and safety, as well as social responsibility

About you

• Bachelor degree, dual studies BA respectively commercial and/or technical apprenticeship

• Minimum 1-2 years within purchasing or any other relevant area

• Fluency in English

• Strong negotiation skills and understanding of relevant business law

• Analytical skills

• Ability to work in teams

• IT experience (e.g. SAP)
