Quality Manager

Role Description

The Quality Manager safeguards product quality and food safety through a QA/QC system that is effective, consistent, compliant, and oriented toward continuous improvement. The role owns the end-to-end quality agenda at the plant — from incoming material and in-process control to finished-goods release, laboratory operations, and customer complaint resolution.

The manager is accountable for first-time quality and for reducing customer complaints while closing SLA target. The role also leads laboratory and inspection activities, owns the QA/QC KPI set with monthly review and action plans, governs quality-impacting changes through proper assessment and approval, and keeps the plant audit-ready.

Beyond system and compliance, the Quality Manager builds a quality culture — leading major improvement projects each year with measurable cost, quality, or productivity impact, while coaching teams to strengthen quality ownership on the floor.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product quality & food safety: Ensure products meet specification with zero critical quality issues.

2. Quality Management System: Build, maintain, and continuously strengthen the QA/QC system across incoming, in-process, and finished-goods control.

3. Customer complaint handling: Reduce complaints and close within SLA through strong root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.

4. Laboratory management: Ensure testing follows method/SOP and 100% of critical measuring equipment is calibrated and verified on schedule.

5. Quality KPI & data analysis: Maintain an accurate KPI set reviewed monthly, with a clear action plan for every red KPI.

6. Change management & compliance: Ensure quality-impacting changes are assessed and approved before implementation, and keep the plant audit-ready against regulatory and customer requirements.

7. Continuous improvement & quality culture: Lead major improvement projects per year with measurable impact, and coach teams to build quality ownership.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree (S1) in Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related discipline.

2. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a comparable QA/QC management role, preferably in food manufacturing.

3. Strong command of Quality Management System (QMS), quality control & inspection, and audit & compliance in a regulated manufacturing environment.

4. Proven capability in problem solving, root cause analysis, and quality risk management, including assessment of quality-impacting changes.

5. Sharp quality data analysis and analytical thinking — able to build and review KPIs and translate data into clear action plans.

6. Excellent communication and storytelling with data, with strong stakeholder management across production, engineering, supply chain, auditors, and customers.

7. Proven ability in coaching and knowledge sharing to build quality capability within the team.

8. Agile, result-oriented, and collaborative, with a strong can-do attitude and a hands-on leadership style grounded in actual conditions on the floor.
