Product Sourcing Specialist

About the role

166 Global Logistics is an international logistics and freight forwarding company providing comprehensive air, sea, road, and rail transportation, customs clearance, and supply chain solutions.We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Product Sourcing Specialist to identify reliable suppliers and manufacturers across Indonesia, source products according to international customer requirements, negotiate competitive prices, and coordinate with our international business development and logistics teams.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop a database of local Indonesian manufacturers, factories, wholesalers, distributors, and suppliers.

• Source products available in Indonesia based on customer specifications, quality standards, target prices, and required quantities.

• Conduct market research to identify suitable products, potential suppliers, and competitive pricing opportunities.

• Contact suppliers directly to request quotations, product catalogs, specifications, samples, and other relevant information.

• Negotiate product prices, minimum order quantities, payment terms, production lead times, and delivery conditions.

• Evaluate and compare suppliers based on pricing, product quality, reliability, production capacity, and delivery capabilities.

• Verify supplier credibility and collect relevant company and product documentation.

• Identify Indonesian products with export potential and suitable manufacturers for international customer inquiries.

• Prepare detailed sourcing reports and quotation comparisons for the overseas team.

• Coordinate with the company's international offices and business development team to respond to sourcing requests efficiently.

About you

• Previous experience in product sourcing, procurement, purchasing, supplier management, or a similar position.

• Good knowledge of the Indonesian supplier and manufacturing market.

• Proven ability to identify suppliers, obtain quotations, compare offers, and negotiate prices.

• Strong research, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

• Good command of English, both written and spoken, to communicate with international customers and colleagues.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office tools.

• Ability to manage multiple sourcing requests, meet deadlines, and work independently.

• A proactive, detail-oriented, and commercially driven mindset.
