Product Design Engineer – Valve

About the Role

We are looking for a Product & Process Design Engineer to develop, improve, and support the manufacturing of valve products from design through testing and production.

The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, engineering standards, and problem-solving, as well as the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and improve valve designs according to applicable API, ASME, ASTM, JIS, and other relevant standards.

• Create and maintain 2D drawings, 3D models, assembly drawings, BOM, and technical documents.

• Perform product design and modification using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

• Review dimensions, tolerances, materials, specifications, and manufacturability.

• Support prototype development, trial, testing, and product validation.

• Analyze test and production results and make necessary design improvements.

• Support manufacturing process improvement to ensure product quality and consistency.

• Participate in APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and related quality planning activities.

• Identify and resolve product and manufacturing issues through root cause analysis and corrective action.

• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchasing, suppliers, and customers on technical matters.

• Support engineering changes, cost reduction, design optimization, and manufacturability improvement.

• Prepare engineering reports, trial reports, and other required technical documentation.

Requirements

• D3/S1 in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical product design and/or manufacturing engineering.

• Proficient in SolidWorks and able to create and interpret 2D engineering drawings.

• Good understanding of mechanical design, dimensions, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing processes.

• Knowledge of API, ASME, ASTM, JIS, preferably in valve, piping, oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial equipment industries.

• Understanding of APQP, DFMEA, and PFMEA.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.

• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Able to communicate in English, both written and spoken.

• Detail-oriented, responsible, adaptable, and able to work independently or in a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in valve manufacturing or mechanical/pressure-containing equipment.

• Knowledge of API 6D, API 600, API 602, API 608, API 609, or related valve standards.

• Experience with AutoCAD, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, design calculation, or material selection.

• Experience in manufacturing trials, technical troubleshooting, supplier/customer coordination, or design improvement.
