About the role

Cinnamon Montessori School is seeking dedicated and passionate Preschool, Elementary, and Special Needs Teachers to join our vibrant educational community in Kelapa Gading, Jakarta. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners' lives through the renowned Montessori pedagogical approach. As a Preschool and Elementary Teacher, you will be instrumental in fostering intellectual curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning in children aged 3 to 12 years old. This role is central to our mission of providing high-quality, child-centred education that nurtures the holistic development of each student.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Montessori-aligned lessons that cater to the individual learning pace and style of each child

• Create a prepared learning environment that is safe, nurturing and encourages exploration and independent discovery

• Observe and assess children's progress using Montessori observation techniques and maintain detailed records of developmental milestones

• Facilitate practical life activities, sensorial exercises and academic lessons using authentic Montessori materials

• Build positive relationships with children, fostering a sense of belonging and confidence in the classroom

• Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, behaviour and developmental needs

• Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive learning community and support the school's values and philosophy

• Maintain classroom organisation, cleanliness and the integrity of Montessori materials

• Participate in professional development opportunities and staff training sessions

• Model respect, kindness and peaceful conflict resolution in all interactions with children and adults

What we're looking for:

• Montessori teaching certification or qualification, or willingness to undertake Montessori training

• A minimum of 2 years' experience teaching in early childhood or primary education settings

• Strong knowledge of child development theories and early childhood pedagogy

• Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to create a positive, structured learning environment

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with children, parents and colleagues

• Patience, flexibility and a genuine passion for working with young children

• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Indonesian or another language is advantageous

• Ability to organise, plan and manage time effectively whilst managing multiple priorities

• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with best practices in early childhood education

• A valid teaching certificate or degree in early childhood education, elementary education or a related field

• Experience in a multicultural or international school environment is preferred
