PE TA Secondary

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic PE TA Secondary to join Canggu Community School (Badung) in Bali. This is a full-time position based in Bali, offering you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' physical education and overall development. As a Physical Education Teaching Assistant at secondary level, you will work alongside our PE department to support engaging and dynamic lessons that inspire students to develop healthy, active lifestyles. This role is integral to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment where all students can thrive in physical education.

Key responsibilities

• Support PE teachers in planning and delivering secondary-level PE lessons across a range of activities and sports

• Assist in the set-up and organisation of PE facilities, equipment and resources before, during and after lessons

• Provide one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance or modifications to activities

• Help manage student behaviour and maintain a safe, positive learning environment during PE sessions

• Motivate and encourage all students to participate actively, regardless of ability level

• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers on engagement and development

• Support inclusive practices to ensure all students, including those with additional needs, can access PE lessons

• Assist in organising and supporting school sports events, competitions and inter-house activities

• Maintain accurate records of student participation and progress as required by the school

• Liaise with teachers, parents and other staff members to support student wellbeing and development

What we're looking for

• Level 1 or Level 2 qualification in PE, Sports Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• DBS/enhanced background check clearance or willingness to obtain it

• Strong knowledge of secondary-level PE curriculum and teaching approaches

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with students of varying abilities

• Physical fitness and the ability to demonstrate activities and support practical demonstrations

• Experience working with young people in an educational or sports setting

• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff

• First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain it)

• Passion for promoting health, fitness and active lifestyles

• Patience, enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards supporting students' learning and development

• Experience working in international schools or multicultural environments is advantageous
