Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and improve mechanical box systems and related mechanical components in line with product specifications and project requirements. This role involves defining design specifications, evaluating components and suppliers, conducting product testing and benchmarking, and coordinating technical activities and development budget proposals with customers and cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical box systems, defining dimensions, tolerances, configurations, materials, and design specifications based on project requirements.

• Prepare and maintain 2D/3D engineering drawings and technical documentation to support product development and implementation.

• Evaluate component quality, manufacturing processes, and supplier capabilities; support new component implementation and the phase-out of obsolete parts in accordance with procedures.

• Determine testing methods and procedures for mechanical box systems and evaluate measurement results and sample validation.

• Implement improvements to existing products, including the preparation, fabrication, measurement, and evaluation of development samples.

• Research mechanical design technology trends and benchmark competitor products through measurements and technical analysis.

• Coordinate with customer engineers, suppliers, and internal teams to support project development and resolve component-related technical issues.

About you

• Minimum Bachelor's degree (S1) or applied Bachelor's degree (D4) in Mechanical Engineering, Design and Manufacture Engineering, or a related engineering field.

• At least 2–3 years of experience in Mechanical Design, Product Development, R&D, or a related position, preferably in manufacturing.

• Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools, with the ability to read and create engineering drawings.

• Good knowledge of mechanical materials, dimensional tolerances (GD&T), component manufacturing processes, and product testing methods.

• Ability to evaluate component suitability and coordinate technical matters with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication and teamwork.
