Mathematics Teacher (Placement: Balikpapan)

Key responsibilities

1. Planning, preparing and delivering well-structured mathematics lessons to primary school students that align with the school curriculum and learning objectives

2. Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement, curiosity and a growth mindset towards mathematics

3. Assessing student progress through formative and summative assessments, and providing constructive feedback to support individual learning needs

4. Utilising a variety of teaching methods and resources, including visual aids, manipulatives, technology and interactive activities to make mathematics engaging and accessible

5. Differentiating instruction to cater to students of varying abilities and learning styles, including providing additional support for struggling learners and enrichment for advanced students

6. Maintaining accurate records of student achievement, attendance and progress, and communicating regularly with parents regarding their child's mathematical development

7. Collaborating with colleagues to develop and refine curriculum content, share best practices and contribute to the professional development of the mathematics department

8. Participating in school activities, events and professional development opportunities to support whole-school objectives

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or a related discipline

2. Teaching qualification or certification recognised in primary education

3. Proven experience teaching mathematics at primary level, ideally in an international or multicultural school setting

4. Strong subject matter expertise in primary mathematics concepts, including numeracy, geometry, data handling and mathematical reasoning

5. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create an organised, supportive learning environment

6. Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning

7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents and colleagues

8. Commitment to student-centred learning, inclusion and catering to diverse learning needs

9. Flexibility, adaptability and a passion for continuous professional development

10. Fluency in English; proficiency in Indonesian language is preferred but not essential
