IT Senior Officer Data Analyst (SQL & Reporting)

About the role

Data Analyst role focused on SQL query development, report creation, and database performance optimization across PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL environments in a banking context.

Key responsibilities

• Compose SQL queries to extract data from core banking/DWH and other applications running on PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MySQL

• Understand table structures and data relationships (accounts, customers, transactions, credit, and similar) across systems

• Create and maintain views, stored procedures, or reusable query scripts for routine reports

• Perform data reconciliation and validation across systems to ensure consistent report results

• Receive, analyze, and clarify report requirements from business users

• Prepare daily, monthly, and ad hoc reports according to user requests

• Automate routine reports through scheduled jobs where possible

• Analyze execution plans and tune slow queries

• Provide indexing recommendations (creation, modification, or deletion) to DBA

• Perform performance tracing using native database tools

About you

• Minimum S1 degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field

• Minimum 5 years experience as Data Analyst, Report Developer, SQL Developer, or similar role

• Proficient writing SQL queries in at least three databases: PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL

• Advanced SQL expertise: complex JOINs, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, and pivot operations

• Able to create views, stored procedures, and functions

• Understanding of indexing concepts (clustered, non-clustered, composite, covering index) and performance impact

• Able to read execution plans and perform query tuning

• Experience tracing performance with database tools such as EXPLAIN ANALYZE and pg_stat_statements (PostgreSQL), SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, or Query Store (SQL Server), and EXPLAIN and slow query log (MySQL)

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data processing and presentation (pivot tables, lookup, formulas)
