ISO Specialist (Integrated Management System)

We are seeking an experienced and proactive ISO Specialist to lead the development and implementation of our Integrated Management System (IMS). This role will play a key part in building the company's ISO management framework from the ground up, developing operational procedures, driving implementation across shore-based functions and vessel operations, and preparing the organization for international certification.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and establish policies, procedures, SOPs, workflows, and supporting documentation required to build an effective Integrated Management System.

• Conduct gap assessments against existing procedures and identify opportunities for alignment with ISO standards, ISM Code, TMSA, and other applicable maritime requirements.

• Lead the end-to-end implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 across relevant shore-based departments and vessel operations.

• Plan and conduct internal audits, coordinate corrective actions, and act as the key liaison with external certification bodies and relevant authorities throughout the certification process.

• Identify non-conformities, perform root cause analysis, and drive effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) through to closure.

• Develop and monitor relevant indicators covering occupational safety, environmental performance, fuel efficiency, energy consumption, emissions, and carbon reduction initiatives.

• Ensure company procedures and management systems remain aligned with applicable maritime regulations and standards, including ISM Code, ISPS, MLC 2006, TMSA, and other relevant requirements.

• Develop and deliver ISO awareness and implementation training for shore-based employees and vessel crew, while supporting the adoption of new processes across the organization.

• Monitor the effectiveness of implemented systems and continuously improve processes, documentation, and operational controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Shipping Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in ISO management systems, preferably within the shipping, ship management, shipyard, or maritime industry.

• Proven experience in setting up and implementing ISO management systems from the ground up, preferably through to certification.

• Strong knowledge and practical experience in:

  • ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management System

  • ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental Management System

  • ISO 45001:2018 – Occupational Health & Safety Management System

  • ISO 50001:2018 – Energy Management System

• Must hold relevant Lead Auditor and/or Internal Auditor certifications for the above ISO standards.

• Strong understanding of maritime management and compliance standards, particularly ISM Code, ISPS, MLC 2006, and TMSA.

• Strong skills in SOP/document development, process mapping, risk assessment, audit management, root cause analysis, and CAPA.

• Ability to analyze energy, fuel consumption, environmental, and safety performance data.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple departments and operational levels.

• Professional proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both written and spoken.

• Willing to work closely with both shore-based teams and vessel operations.
