About the role

BIMBEL ID Batam is seeking a dedicated and passionate English tutor to join our education team in Batam, Riau Islands. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality English language instruction to our students. As an English tutor, you will be instrumental in helping learners develop their language skills, build confidence, and achieve their academic and personal goals. This role is essential to our mission of providing accessible, engaging, and effective tutoring services to the community.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive English lessons to students of varying proficiency levels

• Develop and prepare tailored lesson plans that meet individual student learning needs and objectives

• Assess student progress through regular evaluations, quizzes, and constructive feedback

• Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence

• Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and paces

• Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding academic progress and areas for improvement

• Maintain detailed records of student attendance, progress, and achievements

• Collaborate with other tutors and staff members to enhance the overall quality of instruction

• Stay current with effective teaching methodologies and incorporate best practices into lessons

• Support students in preparing for examinations and language proficiency tests as needed

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent professional qualifications

• Native or near-native English speaker with excellent command of grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary

• Proven experience tutoring English to students of various ages and proficiency levels

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly

• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students learn and develop

• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple students and lesson schedules

• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital learning platforms

• Teaching certification (such as TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA) is preferred

• Experience with examination preparation (such as IELTS, TOEFL, or Cambridge exams) is advantageous

• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with team members
