Business Development Manager Munti Batik

About the role

As the Business Development Manager you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for Munti Batik, ensuring that its business activities contribute to sustainable livelihoods and positive social impact in the community it serves. You will be responsible for translating the organisation's mission into sustainable business growth by developing markets, building strategic partnerships, strengthening sales and revenues, and continuously improving products and services. At the same time, the role focuses on building the capacity of the Munti Batik teams, strengthening local skills and employment opportunities, and ensuring that day-to-day operations are effectively aligned with the organisation's social and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement business plans and strategies aligned with Munti Batik's social mission and business objectives.

• Monitor and evaluate business and program performance, tracking progress against agreed objectives, targets, and key performance indicators.

• Set annual operational goals and priorities, and provide leadership and guidance to the team to ensure their effective implementation.

• Conduct market analysis and develop new markets and sales opportunities for Munti Batik's products and services, contributing to the achievement of annual revenue targets.

• Develop and implement strategic sales plans, including proactive lead generation, customer acquisition, and business development activities.

• Build and maintain strategic business and client partnerships that strengthen Munti Batik's market position.

• Identify product development opportunities and market needs, and coordinate freelance graphic and fashion designers in the development and improvement of Munti Batik's product range.

• Assess training, capacity-building, and staffing needs and support the development of the technical skills and capabilities of the Munti Batik teams.

• Coordinate and monitor workflow across team leaders and studio teams, ensuring effective planning, communication, quality, and timely delivery of activities.

About you

• 5+ years experience in business development, management and leadership

• Relevant industry network in Indonesia and understanding of the textile and luxury market

• Google Suite / Microsoft Office

• Textiles design experience (desirable)

• Working with manufacturers (desirable)

• Working with rural communities (desirable)

• Strategic but hands-on

• Team approach to leadership and strategizing

• Operational coordination and problem-solving

• Excellent communicator, able to adjust communication style for different stakeholders
