About the role

Shinkai Pool 'n Cafe is seeking a passionate and skilled Barista to join our dynamic team at our North Bekasi location in West Java. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise in coffee preparation and beverage craftsmanship whilst delivering exceptional customer service in a vibrant café and pool environment. As a Barista, you will be central to creating memorable experiences for our guests, combining technical skill with genuine hospitality to establish Shinkai as a premier destination for quality beverages and relaxation.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and serving a wide variety of espresso-based drinks, speciality coffees, and other beverages to the highest standard of quality and presentation

• Operating and maintaining espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment to ensure optimal performance and consistency

• Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently whilst providing knowledgeable recommendations based on customer preferences

• Maintaining a clean, hygienic and organised working environment throughout the café service area, including equipment and workstations

• Engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner to build loyalty and enhance the overall café experience

• Monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups and other ingredients, and communicating replenishment needs to management

• Adhering to food safety and health regulations to ensure all beverages are prepared safely and hygienically

• Contributing to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues and collaborating during busy service periods

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar café or beverage service role within the hospitality industry

• Strong knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods, espresso techniques and speciality drink preparation

• Proficiency in operating commercial espresso machines and café equipment

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with guests

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of drink quality and presentation

• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks such as steaming milk and pulling shots

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times

• Flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules, including potential weekend and evening shifts

• A passion for coffee and genuine enthusiasm for creating exceptional beverage experiences

• Preferred: International barista certification or recognised training qualifications
